There will be a ceremony

Bona Drag's Ceremonial Collection is a proper stunner. I don't think the lookbook has been absent from my top sites list since August. I've posted a couple of images here already - so excuse the repetition - but I can't think of a more appropriate way to spill my news. My boyfriend, Jordan, asked me to marry him on Christmas Eve and, after an assurance that he wasn't joking, I plonked a beautiful 1930s ring on my finger.

I always thought that I'd be completely rational in the face of a wedding. It is not so. Much as I love the challenge of designing a bespoke wedding dress, I've always said there was no way I would make my own. Fast forward a couple of weeks and I've designed my own dress (which seems to consist of several layers of dresses) and those of our bridal elves. I am, it seems, the complete antithesis of a chilled out bride-to-be. Thankfully a Reform Lane bridal line was already in the pipelines - hopefully we'll combine the two.

More happy news: I first discovered Bona Drag through Miss Moss, who got engaged watching the sun rise in South Africa a couple of days ago and my friend Marianne had her man on bended knee under the stars at New Year. Congratulations ladies. Let's all be cool, calm, collected brides together (as if).
